LISETTE VAN DEN BRAND: "HOPEFULLY I'LL BE HAPPY AND IN LOVE. STUDYING THE BRAIN IN AMSTERDAM OR NEW YORK, WHO KNOWS? MAYBE I'LL HAVE AN ICECREAM STORE."
14th September 2014
Who is Lisette van den Brand?
Me.
What did you do before modeling?
Dishwasher. Mushroom picker.
If you weren’t a model what would you be?
I would be a doctor, a neurosurgeon to be exact. I may still be one day, although now I'm thinking more about neuroscience instead. I'm also super interested in genes, so maybe something with that. Either way, I'll be some sort of crazy scientist.
Your personal passion or hidden talents?
I'm working on the perfect icecream with my icecream machine (best gift I ever got, from Mick Szal).
Ten years from now (you will be…)?
Hopefully I'll be happy and in love. Studying the brain in Amsterdam or New York, who knows? Maybe I'll have an icecream store.
Favorite word?
Lekker; it's Dutch for tasty and you can use it for everything, food, the weather, situations, people...
What’s no fun?
Rude people, missing trains, flat bike tires.
Who's your favorite Supermodel?
Super-me.
Instant gratification?
Frank Ocean, Dirty Dancing, mochi icecream, Murakami, Magritte.
Current 'eye candy'?
I love watching True Blood, Alexander Skarsgard and Joe Manganiello without clothes most of the time, a feast for the eye.
Something 'Timeless'?
Books, I hope the world never stops reading.
Favorite movie?
Hmm that's a hard one, I love movies. The skin I live in (Almodovar) is amazing. American Beauty scores high, or Léon the professional. Most recently I fell in love with Only lovers left alive.
Your Dream modeling Job?
If there's a tropical island involved I'm in. My favorite jobs so far are the ones where I traveled to beautiful places, I hope for many more of those.
What’s your beauty secret or essential grooming routine?
Always, always clean your face before going to bed and in the morning. Whenever I'm in Paris I return with half a French pharmacy in my suitcase. Oh, and sunblock!
A quote that sums you up:
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
