Who is Susanne Holmsater?

I’m a 25 year-old Swedish girl who has spent the past six months in New York. After finishing my studies, I decided to leave Stockholm (which has been my hometown for the past 25 years) and find out more about New York. I have a passion for photography and love meeting new people!.

 What did you do before modeling?

I finished my Masters degree at Stockholm School of Economics.

If you weren’t a model what would you be?

I hope to some day work as a teacher.

Your personal passion or hidden talents? 

I love shooting with old, analogue cameras. As of now I have 7 different ones, a few inherited, and a few that I have bought at second-hand camera-stores. I try to always bring one wherever I go, because you never know when something or someone comes along that you want to capture on film.

Ten years from now (you will be…)?

Ten years from now I hope to have started a family with someone I love and to work with something that enables me to travel the world with my family.

Favorite word?

Oh, that’s difficult! My favorite word? It depends on what I’d be making my decision based on. Say, if it is based on the sound then maybe “singing”, because it sounds really nice when you pronounce it. But if it were based on the meaning of the word, then it would probably be “love” or “happiness” (yepp, real cheesy, I know). But honestly, I don’t know.

What’s no fun?

Spiders are no fun, they’re absolutely intimidating! Little eight-legged freaks… I’m sorry. 

 Instant gratification? 

A new song that I just can’t stop listening to.

Current 'eye candy'?

Not a too unexpected answer here, I’m sorry, but I have to say my boyfriend. Being in a distant relationship means you have to rely on pictures for current updates, so he’s definitely my eye candy right now.

Favorite movie?

Amelie from Montmartre. And Snatch. And Intouchables. And Barfi. And Fight Club. And Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas… and like 10 more. I LOVE a good movie and I have so many different favorites, depending on genre and my day-mood. 

Something 'Timeless'?

Kindness.

What’s your beauty secret or essential grooming routine?

Sleep! And a little bit of eyeliner… and concealer. Let’s be honest here.

A quote that sums you up:

Another hard question… My dad has this quote but it really sums him up much better than me. He usually says (when he’s in some sort of trouble or something’s not going his way but despite of that, he still pushes through and make the best of the situation) that he “trollar med knäna” which in English is almost synonymous to “to carry out a sleight of hand”. I really like that quote, and try to think about it whenever I need some moral support.
